Description:
This presentation aims to review different standardized tests that can be used to measure dexterity, as well as how to measure strength of the hand with dynamometer testing. We will review the components of dexterity and coordination, as well as how therapists in all practice areas can utilize testing for their population. Tests that will be presented include, but are not limited to, the Nine Hole Peg Test, Minnesota Manual Dexterity Test, Box and Blocks test, Jebsen Hand Function Test, and the Grooved Pegboard Test. Finally, a review of the literature for each of these tests and their use in various practice settings will be provided. This presentation will consist of both verbal and video information, as well as hands on experience with some of the tests discussed in the presentation (dependent on number of attendees).
