Attendees will learn the details of the new occupational therapy evaluation codes that are effective January 1, 2017 and how to appropriately select the level of complexity to reflect the scope of evaluation performed, using clinical examples as a guide. We will review the status of AOTA’s CPT Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) code change proposal, learn the underlying rationale for proposed changes, and discuss the current status of the proposal through the American Medical Association (AMA) process to add/change codes in the CPT Manual.
